Conditioners

Cream Rinse

Cream Rinses are your standard after shampoo conditioners. Apply conditioner to your ends and work up. Do not rub conditioner into your scalp or hair line unless you have frizzy hair!

Curly, Color Treated, or Permed Hair should have a cream rinse every time it is shampooed.

For Curly Hair Use Something Heavy or Oily. Curly hair needs moisture to tame frizz. Redken Smooth Down or Reken All Soft quench moisture thirsty hair.

I recommend Redken Color Extend Conditioner or Grund Rinse for color treated or permed hair.

Fine hair textures can skip the cream rinse and instead use a light leave in conditioner. Most cream rinses weigh down fine hair. My friend Jenny swears Pureology Doesn’t weigh hers down!

Deep Conditioners

If you have color or perm in your hair, you should use a deep conditioner at least once a month. I recommend getting one right after your color service. A little extra money makes your hair color last longer!

Do not leave in deep conditioners longer than recommended. Protein deep conditioners add tons of protein to your hair. The acidic formula closes down the outer hair shaft very tight, so tight that it can become brittle and break.

I know a girl who left a deep conditioner in her hair for over 6 hours. She called me crying at 1 am because chunks of her hair were falling out. How Embarrassing!

Leave Ins

Everyone should have at least one leave in conditioner.

Curly Hair!Curly Hair needs a cream rinse and a moisturizing leave in conditioner or frizz reducer. Redken Glass is a moisturizing defrizzer that tames your summer fro. I also recommend Redken Satinwear. Not only does it moisturize, it helps protect from color fade.

If you have curly hair, and your are in a bind, you can use a small amount of cream rinse as a styling product. Put a small amount, less than a pea, in your hand. Rub it into your hands like hand lotion, then apply to your curls starting at the ends. Apply the remaining residue to forehead and sides.

Fine, Long Hair! Long Fine Locks need heat protection and strength. Reken Satinwear has a heat protector built in. Redken Anti-Snap is light, glossy, and stops your ends from breaking. I like mixing both together for ultimate shine.
